How does Tadalafil work?

Nitric oxide from nerve terminals and endothelial cells stimulates the synthesis of cyclic guanosine monophosphate; which is commonly known as cyclic GMP or cGMP, in the smooth muscle cells of the corpus cavernosum penis. The cGMP relaxes smooth muscle and increases blood flow to the corpus cavernosum. Pharmaceutical drugs like Tadalafil that fall under the category of PDE5 inhibitor and schedule H, work by simply increasing the amount of cGMP.
